Jurors acquit Ocala man in 2023 shooting death of best friend

An Ocala man who was charged with manslaughter, in connection with the 2023 shooting death of his best friend, has been acquitted by Marion County jurors.

On Thursday, 23-year-old Abraham Yosef Bordas was found not guilty of manslaughter with a firearm. He was initially arrested on December 30, 2023, after his friend, 26-year-old Chase Richard Koepke, was fatally shot inside an Ocala home.

Back on December 30, 2023, at around 3 p.m., a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal responded to a residence located in the 2200 block of SW 146th Avenue Road in Ocala.
