Woman arrested for starving a horse in Marion County; horse euthanized

CITRA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman for aggravated animal cruelty after finding a malnourished horse.

Sheriff’s deputies say they received a complaint about an underweight horse on Northwest 27th Avenue in Citra this month.

Deputies found a 17-year-old gelding named Bully with bones visible. When they interviewed the owner, Isabella Medina, 22, she said the horse started losing weight last month.
