The local branch of the NAACP is hosting an Education Day on Aug. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Howard Academy Community Center, 306 NW Seventh Ave., Ocala.
There will be information, giveaways, backpacks, a fire truck, face painting and light refreshments.
NAACP officials said the goal is to “impact all levels of education in Marion County with a view toward having highly educated citizens who are able to successfully participate in the workforce, in religious institutions, and in the life of the community, in general, making positive contributions.”…
