Official ready to hear from residents on Walmart and other ‘hot button’ issues

An official in The Villages is ready to hear from residents about a planned Walmart and other “hot button” issues when he hosts a question-and-answer session.

Don Deakin, an elected supervisor in Community Development District 4 and a member of the Amenity Authority Committee, will host the Q-&-A session from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at the Mulberry Grove Recreation Center.

Residents of CDD 4, specifically the Phillips Villas, spoke out last month at a CDD 4 board meeting about their concerns about a planned Walmart near their homes.
