Dance Alive National Ballet announces Nutcracker and Next Generation auditions on August 16

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dance Alive National Ballet (DANB), now in its 60th year, will hold auditions for the company, for Nutcracker, and for the student group Next Generation on Saturday, August 16, at Pofahl Studios (1325 NW 2nd Street).

DANB Artistic Director Kim Tuttle will be casting for selected roles in DANB’s 2025-2026 productions as well as Nutcracker. Directors of the student group, NEXT GENERATION, will select members for the 2025-2026 company.  DANB welcomes dancers from surrounding counties, studios, and gyms. Those auditioning should arrive 30 minutes before the audition in order to complete paperwork and receive their number.

  • For girls: black leotard, pink tights, and appropriate shoes with hair up.
  • For boys: white t-shirt, black tights, shorts or bicycle pants, and appropriate shoes.
  • For acrobats: appropriate clothing.
