Wanted man tased four times while resisting deputies sent to arrest him

A Summerfield man wanted for failure to appear was arrested after pushing and resisting deputies to the point of being tased four times.

Deputies responded to 9625 SE 160th Pl., Summerfield, regarding a warrant check on 51-year-old Darrius Deon Reid around 10:20 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He had been held in contempt of court for failure to appear.

Upon arrival, the deputies found Reid outside the residence. He was inside his fence gate, which they noticed was unlocked and easily accessible. He proceeded to get upset and verbal with them, to which they told him that he had a warrant for his arrest, the report said.

One of the deputies pushed the gate to detain Reid who pushed the gate back. He also stated, “I ain’t got no warrant.” He put both his hands on the deputy’s chest and pushed him away, the report said…
