Facebook threats to shoot at neighbors, children land Marion man in jail

An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Dunnellon man after he allegedly posted a message on Facebook threatening to open fire on his neighbors’ houses and shoot their children.

On Thursday, July 31, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office receiving the tip, which stated that a man residing on SW 181st Court in Dunnellon had allegedly threatened in a Facebook post to shoot at neighboring properties. The man was identified as Vincent Michael Debowe, according to the arrest report.

The report stated that the Facebook account, which belonged to Debowe, posted the following message on Wednesday, July 30, shortly after 5:30 p.m.:

“If they don’t (expletive) arrest these neighbors for poisoning me and being on this power and doing this everywhere I go I will start firing on their houses and shooting their children in their faces (expletive) stalking trash will die and thier little families of the sherrifs office too (expletive) cowards!!!”
