I am thoroughly angered by the commission’s attack on this small distillery. FishHawk Spirits is tiny. This business is located way out in the country. It’s also a farm, they grow their own grains. It has one large building, an outdoor bar area, and a couple small granaries.
This small business provides spirits without poisonous chemicals in them. I’ve been there many times. They do not serve food, so why would Marion County require a food permit? They are only open Thursday to Sunday, I believe. They do give small tours of the operation, because it’s interesting to see how spirits are made.
So they forgot to renew their permit to operate? I believe there’s a fine for that, it shouldn’t mean they have to close…
