Man on probation in 3 counties arrested after allegedly trying to drive away while officers were trying to remove him from his vehicle

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Floyd Russell Hill, 57, was arrested early this morning for battery on two police officers and other charges after allegedly trying to drive away from a traffic stop while officers were trying to remove him from his vehicle.

At about 2:24 a.m. on August 13, a Gainesville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1900 block of NE 3rd Avenue on a vehicle that failed to come to a complete stop before the stop bar. The driver, identified as Hill, reportedly produced a Florida ID card and said he did not possess a valid driver’s license; the officer reported that his license had been suspended 16 times…
