An Ocala couple has sued D.R. Horton for a home they purchased in 2023, claiming their property’s value has been reduced dramatically due to the home’s shoddy construction, citing windows, overhangs, and other materials that were not properly installed, as well as a stucco system that is allegedly in violation of multiple state and national building standards.
Christelle and Fritznel Bruno filed the lawsuit against the developer in the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County on Tuesday, August 19.
According to Marion County property records, the Brunos purchased the home at 5636 SW 50th Terrace in the Meadows of Heath Brook in October 2023 for $410,000 from the previous homeowners, Cynthia and Neville Brown. Court records show that the Browns purchased the home for $288,965 from D.R. Horton when it was brand new in October 2018…
