Marion County Man Pleads No Contest To Soliciting A Child After Undercover Operation

Richard Logsdon sentenced to five years in prison after an undercover online sting operation.

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old Marion County man, Richard Logsdon, pleaded no contest Wednesday to a charge of soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer. Representing himself during a jury trial, Logsdon was sentenced by Judge Barbara Kissner-Kwatkosky to five years in the Florida Department of Corrections and has been designated as a sexual offender.

The conviction stems from an August 2018 undercover online operation conducted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), in collaboration with agencies including the Ocala Police Department (OPD) and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. The sting aimed to identify individuals who solicit children online for sexual activity.
