ALACHUA, Fla. – Conestogas Restaurant will be closed for kitchen remodeling, starting August 29. The restaurant is a family-owned steakhouse that has been a fixture in downtown Alachua for over 36 years. It’s located on Main Street in a historic building that is over one hundred years old. The kitchen remodel is a major renovation that involves completely gutting and rebuilding the structure under the floors. The work is expected to be completed by September 12.
