Medic, who saved Eagles hall of fame guitarist, was from Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – When a Gainesville rock and roll legend had a medical emergency on a cruise ship, the medic who came to his rescue was also from Gainesville.

Don Felder, hall of fame guitarist for the Eagles, collapsed onstage in February, and we now know the EMT who assisted him was Mike Heeder, who now works with the Bradford County Emergency Management Office.

Felder was okay, and the two met again at a Styx concert in Jacksonville…
