Labor Day grew from the strength and perseverance of working people who, over a century ago, stood together to insist their work, and their dignity, be respected. From that movement came this holiday — a chance to recognize the workers who contribute to the strength of our community and nation day in and day out.
Here in Gainesville, that legacy appears in many forms.
