A petition opposing the creation of a Florida National Park that was created by a Marion County resident who fears the potential for “unsustainable tourism and commercialization in the Ocala National Forest,” has already received over 5,000 signatures in just over a week.
As of Thursday morning, approximately 5,172 individuals had signed the petition to “Protect the Ocala National Forest: Oppose H.R. 4656 and Stop Mass Tourism Development,” which was created by Bobbie Jo Dameron on August 26.
