Unlicensed driver crashes, hides in woods after allegedly leading Marion deputies on 100+ mph chase

An unlicensed driver accused of leading Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a high-speed chase is facing additional charges after he allegedly crashed his vehicle and attempted to hide in the nearby woods.

On Saturday, August 30, at around 11:30 p.m., an MCSO deputy spotted a vehicle that was traveling near the 7200 block of SE 92nd Loop. The vehicle’s speed was determined to be approximately 16 miles per hour above the posted speed limit, according to the arrest report.

The deputy was in a marked MCSO patrol car and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. The report stated that the vehicle’s driver, later identified as Zuriel Robert Tyrell, began to slow down while approaching the intersection of SE 123rd Lane and SE 92nd Loop…
