OLD TOWN, Fla. (WCJB) – The trial date for the man accused of murdering Demiah Appling, 14, in Dixie County has been changed due to an issue with DNA evidence.
Prosecutors told TV20 in July that Waymore Gerhardt’s murder trial was set to start the week of Oct. 13.
On Tuesday, another pre-trial hearing was put on the calendar for Oct. 7. State Attorney John Durrett told TV20 the trial won’t happen in October due to an “outstanding discovery issue concerning DNA.”…
