A Belleview man who spent nearly 150 days in the Marion County Jail in 2012 and 2015 received a break on a $14,756 incarceration lien that he accrued over the past decade, with county officials forgiving over $13,500 of the amount owed.
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners approved a reduction of the civil restitution lien for Hugh M. Rioch during its regular meeting on Wednesday, September 3.
As it has done in similar cases in the past, the board forgave all the fees assigned to Rioch while he served as an inmate worker. In his stays, Rioch spent 24 days not working at the jail. At $50 a day, the total comes to $1,200…
