Gainesville Police Department (GPD) units responded with a “time delay of two hours” after receiving reports of a 53-year-old man battering an 83-year-old family member, according to the arrest report.
The report states that around 10:00 am, the victim attempted to speak with Edgardo San-Miguel, but he did not respond from inside his bedroom. The victim reportedly used a screwdriver to get into San-Miguel’s room and asked him to take the garbage out.
The victim told police that San-Miguel “became angry and used his hands to grab her along both shoulders where he shook her several times… at some point, [San-Miguel] pushed her backwards through the open doorway.” This reportedly made the victim to fall on the hallway floor, causing a visible bruise to her hip…
