The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) issued a response to GnvInfo yesterday regarding a public records request for all emails and text messages sent and received by former Sheriff Clovis Watson.
According to ACSO, “The cost to duplicate these records is $52,835.50 based on 1,093.45 hours at the hourly rate of $48.32. The breakdown is 1 minute and 30 seconds per email or text for a total of 43,738.”
ACSO declined requests for a fee reduction or waiver, stating, “It is the policy of ACSO to maintain consistency in our processing and response to public record requests, including the collection of fees.”…
