GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The City of Gainesville is recognizing the 85th anniversary of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1205 with a dual street naming.
The city commission will designate Northwest 25th Avenue from Northwest 8th Street to Northwest 6th Street as “IBEW Avenue.” This portion of the road is adjacent to the union hall.
A public ceremony to reveal the new street sign will be held Oct. 7, marking 85 years since the local was chartered in 1940…
