A convicted felon with weapons in his vehicle was arrested near the entrance to Del Webb Spruce Creek in Summerfield.
Gregory Scott Shoemaker, 44, of Belleview, was driving a white Jeep Grand Cherokee in the wee hours Thursday when he was pulled over for failure to come to a complete stop, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
During a traffic stop, a deputy spotted a black Glock firearm on the passenger floorboard. In addition, a Smith & Wesson firearm was found near the vehicle’s center console. Shoemaker is a convicted felon with past convictions for burglary, producing marijuana and dealing in stolen property.
