An elaborate scam targeting an elderly Marion County resident resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old man last week.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the elderly victim received a pop-up message on his iPad on Tuesday, September 16. That message instructed him to call a phone number to “verify that his device had not been compromised.”
