There’s a growing frustration in Ocala that needs to be addressed, and it’s not just the traffic on State Road 200. It’s the constant complaining from many in the Boomer generation who seem intent on dragging this city backwards while blaming everyone else for their own dissatisfaction.
These Boomers grumble about housing development, shopping, and how things “aren’t like they were in the ’70s,” as if time is supposed to stand still. Yet, they demand modern conveniences, criticize young people for struggling financially, and scoff at any program that is helpful, including previously suggested student loan relief, despite having had access to affordable education, housing, and jobs that simply don’t exist in the same way today. The entitlement is on full display with a “me first” attitude and whether it’s cutting lines, mistreating service workers, or riding around in golf carts half-drunk like local royalty. In fact, this is not just isolated to Ocala and Marion County, but the entire country…
