OCALA, Fla. (CBS12) — It was a quiet afternoon in a central Florida neighborhood, until one man decided to rev things up in the wrong way.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said on October 24, around 12:30 p.m., a bold thief was caught on camera helping himself to a red 1991 Yamaha Banshee that didn’t belong to him. The scene unfolded outside a home on SW 32nd Terrace in Ocala, where the suspect lingered near the 4-wheeler for a moment, perhaps contemplating his life choices — or just waiting for the coast to clear.
Then, in a move that would make even the Louvre thieves proud, video shows the thief pushing the Banshee out of the yard, slipping just beyond the reach of the victim’s surveillance camera. But he wasn’t done. Once out of sight, the sheriff’s office said he fired it up and rode off, leaving behind only tire tracks and a lot of questions…
