Gainesville Man Dodges Felony Conviction in Inmate Battery Case, Beats Police Assault Charge, 30 Months Probation

Victor Bruce has been sentenced to two and a half years of probation.

Bruce, who is related to numerous members of Ignite Life Center (ILC) church, spoke with GnvInfo six months ago. In the article, Bruce called for his uncle, ILC head pastor Mark Vega, to go to jail for covering up child sexual abuse. One week after the article was published, Bruce was Baker Acted and subsequently arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer. Bruce was later charged with battery by a detainee for battering another inmate while in the Alachua County Jail.

Bruce was potentially facing up to 20 years in prison between the two felony cases, with aggravated assault on police carrying a maximum sentence of 15 years and battery by a detainee carrying a maximum sentence of five years…
