A 30-year-old Ocala man is expected to be sentenced Nov. 10 to 30 years in prison for the fatal September 2023 shooting of man at Cynthia Chestnut Park in Gainesville.
Court records show Javon Stephon Barclay will be sentenced as part of a plea deal with prosecutors on a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 44-year-old Johnny Walker. Barclay also pleaded to charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and attempting to elude.
Barclay had faced up to life in prison if convicted at trial. He must serve a mandatory minimum of 25 years, and will receive 778 days of credit for time served…
