The Gainesville City Commission lost control of the utility because they punished 150,000 residents with unconscionable monthly fees used in substantial part to support a stream of financial misadventures. The City’s notorious fiscal follies have continued in a cascade of wasteful, unnecessary spending without even bothering to bid projects.
Now they wish to regain control over 90,000+ monthly utility payments that can be used to fund stunningly overpaid sub-par managers, numerous well-off consultants, lawyers, wealthy real estate associates, and landlords who continue to benefit from planned City giveaways…
