A Summerfield man was arrested for battery after allegedly knocking his brother’s tooth out during an argument with his girlfriend.
A deputy responded to a battery involving 41-year-old Ortelio Lazaro Alfonso and his brother at an undisclosed mobile home around 5:40 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The brother explained he was arguing with Alfonso’s girlfriend in the kitchen living room when Alfonso came in through the front door. Alfonso started punching him, but he turned his body around without defending himself. He was left with a missing front tooth, another tooth bent backward, fresh blood in his mouth, and redness around his face and forehead, the report said.
The deputy tried to find Alfonso and an uncle, who witnessed the incident, at his residence on Southeast 26th Court in Summerfield. He instead saw a locked gate, a “No Trespassing” sign and multiple potentially aggressive dogs on the property. The lights were on, but no one answered when he knocked on the gate, the report said…
