Ocala woman allegedly leaves hotel with stolen car, cellphone

A 22-year-old Ocala woman is facing several charges after she allegedly stole a car and cellphone from a man who was staying at a local hotel.

On Monday, November 3, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived at Microtel Inn & Suites (1770 SW 134th Street in Ocala) to investigate the theft of a vehicle. A male victim advised that a female acquaintance, later identified as Mariah Joann Davis, had allegedly committed the theft while he was asleep in his hotel room, according to the arrest report.

The victim alleged that Davis had grabbed the keys to his car, along with his cellphone, and left the hotel room shortly after 2 a.m. According to the victim’s statement, Davis did not have permission to drive his vehicle, and she has never driven it in the past…
