Alachua County Tests New Road Repair Material on County Road 235 to Improve Local Driving Conditions

In October 2025, the Alachua County Public Works Department held a field demonstration on County Road 235. The purpose was to test Mastic One, a crack-sealing material made by Crafco Inc., Preservation Products. The demonstration aimed to assess how well the product could extend the life of roads with heavy truck traffic and existing pavement problems.

Mastic One is a hot-applied mix of polymer-modified asphalt binders and aggregate. It is designed to repair larger pavement cracks and surface defects. The material is not a permanent fix, but it can slow road deterioration and help maintain driving conditions until full resurfacing is possible.
