Marion County’s longest serving sheriff was lauded for his dedication to his family, the sheriff’s office and the community during his funeral service, held Nov. 12 at First Baptist Church of Ocala.
Hundreds of people, including sheriff’s deputies, dignitaries and well-wishers, gathered inside the church, which has hosted funerals for other leaders, such as Ocala Police Chief Greg Graham.
