Watch: Animal groups demand action after fiber optic worker disturbs bat colony in Alachua County

ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) — Animal welfare groups are calling for action after a fiber optic cable installers were caught on camera damaging a bat habitat, harming dozens of bats.

Video on social media from the Turkey Creek neighborhood of Alachua shows a worker opening a manhole cover and digging out a colony of bats. He appears to swing his shovel at them.
