Illegal migrant sentenced in FL for attempted transmission of obscene material to minor

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Senegalese national residing illegally in the United States has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for attempting to transmit obscene material to a minor.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Monday that Khadim Rassol Gueye, 26, pleaded guilty to the charge earlier this year. In addition to his prison term, Gueye will serve three years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender upon completion of his sentence.

Court records reveal that Gueye used a popular cloud-based messaging app to engage in explicit conversations with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. Over several months, he expressed sexual desires and sent obscene images of himself. The “minor” was actually an undercover special agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)…
