Grocery banner cuts ribbon on 1st of 3 converted Hitchcock’s Markets locations
As it prepares to become part of The Winn-Dixie Company, the 100-year-old Winn-Dixie grocery chain is marking a new era of growth in its home state of Florida. On Dec. 6, the company cut the ribbon on a new location at 434 E. Noble Avenue in Williston, the first of three Hitchcock’s Markets locations slated to be rebannered as Winn Dixie stores.
The location in Williston is also the first to feature the new Winn-Dixie concept, which includes an updated exterior facade and modern interior signage, along with the grocer’s full slate of departments and services. The buildout of the new store took just 45 days.
Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket, and soon to become The Winn-Dixie Company, finalized an agreement to acquire three Hitchcock’s Markets in Alachua, Keystone Heights and Williston in October as part of its renewed focus on growth in Florida…
