West African–inspired ‘NOMMO’ sculpture unveiled at Gainesville garden

Volunteers with the Dreamers Garden at the Grove Street Neighborhood Community Garden on Dec. 20 unveiled a new sculpture that honors West African culture.

The unveiling at 920 NW Fourth St. featured a talk by Susan E. Cooksey, a retired curator of African art at the University of Florida’s Harn Museum.
