A single mother who is the sole provider for her five children is asking Marion County officials to forgive a $3,659 lien that accumulated from a 25-day prison stay at the Marion County Jail so that she can secure a job in healthcare.
The Marion County Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to review a request for the reduction of a civil restitution lien from Sarah Ames during its upcoming regular meeting on Tuesday, January 6.
Ames, who petitioned the County Attorney’s Office on Dec. 9, 2025, for relief from a “Cost of Incarceration” lien currently totaling $3,659.27., is hoping to clear the financial judgment in order to secure employment in the healthcare sector…
