Plans underway for I-75 overpass in southwest Marion County

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Marion County leaders are planning a new overpass in the southwest part of the county to alleviate congestion on County Road 484 at I-75.

One driver, Barry Owens, said using CR-484 to get to I-75 or across to the other side is the only option for many drivers in that area.

“Really, the chokepoint for everybody is to get across I-75 and right here (at CR-484) is like one of the only areas you can do it down here,” he said. “Unless you go all the way down to Wildwood, which is ten miles south, or if you go back up eight miles north to Highway 200, that’s the only way you can get across I-75.”…
