Alachua County, FL – A wanted convicted felon was taken into custody Sunday after deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on Interstate 75, ending a nearly 24-hour coordinated investigation that began with a violent incident in southwest Alachua County.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first called Saturday afternoon, January 3, to the 2600 block of Southwest 75th Street in reference to a panic alarm and reported disturbance. Witnesses told deputies the suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Lorenzo Johnson, allegedly fled the area on foot wearing black Nike shoes after a physical altercation…
