When are student holidays?
Jan. 16 and March 30 are teacher workdays and student holidays. Students are also off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 19, Presidents Day on Feb. 16, and Memorial Day on May 25.
When is spring break for Alachua County Public Schools?
Spring break runs from March 16-20.
When is the last day of school in Alachua County?
The last day of school for students is June 2.
School hours
Most elementary schools in the county start at 7:45 a.m. and end at 1:52 p.m. On early release Wednesday, classes end at 12:37 p.m.
Elementary schools that do not follow that schedule include Shell Elementary (8:20 a.m. to 2:27 p.m.) in Hawthorne, Alachua Elementary (7:55 a.m. to 2:02 p.m.) and High Springs Community School (8 a.m. to 2:07 p.m.).
Gainesville-area middle schools start at 9:20 a.m. and end at 3:37 p.m. Oak View Middle School in Newberry begins at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 2:42 p.m., and Mebane in Alachua begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 2:17 p.m…
