There will be no shortage of great matchups in the SEC this season and Tuesday gives us the next important showdown. Georgia was actually the final team to beat Florida last season before their national title run, breaking a recent trend in this rivalry. As these two teams do battle in Gainesville, which one gets this important early SEC win?
The first two months went pretty well for Georgia (13-1), as the Bulldogs’ lone loss came in overtime to Clemson and they’re fresh off a solid showing in an overtime win against Auburn. The Bulldogs are out to prove that last year’s trip to the Big Dance was no fluke and that they can be a competitor in this tough league once again.
The story is different for Florida (9-5), as the defending champions have certainly underwhelmed all season. None of their five losses are abhorrent, but the Gators’ new pieces in the backcourt haven’t lived up to expectations and this team is coming off a tough loss at Missouri to open league play. They’ll certainly hope for a bounce back performance.
