A 19-year-old Ocala man, who was arrested last week in connection with a Christmas Day shooting that claimed the life of a 21-year-old father, has been denied bond and will remain incarcerated.
During his first court appearance on Tuesday, January 6, Curnelius Andrew Brown, Jr. was denied bond by a Marion County judge. Brown was previously arrested on Tuesday, December 30, for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of 21-year-old Ja’Narre Suggs.
The deadly shooting occurred on the morning of Thursday, December 25. On that date, at around 4:10 a.m., Ocala Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of W Silver Springs Place in Ocala after receiving reports of a gunshots in the area.
