GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Starting next month, CSX Transportation will begin a major railroad track maintenance project that will close railroad crossings across the state.
The three-week project will begin on Feb. 2 and end around Feb. 20. It will impact Alachua, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, and Sumter counties.
Railroad crossings will be closed anywhere from 2 to 5 days, not for the entirety of the project.
In North Central Florida, the crossings impacted are a private road crossing near Hawthorne along Southeast 221st Street (South Johnson Street), the County Road 316 crossing near Northeast 21st Avenue Road near Fort McCoy, and Northeast 9th Street crossing near the Reilly Arts Center in Ocala…
