2 ousted Marion County Fire Rescue workers file grievances against county

As they said they would, two former Marion County Fire Rescue employees who were ousted after a violent hazing incident at a fire station have filed grievances against the county.

Pursuant to a public records request, county officials provided the Star-Banner with a copy of the grievances.

Victor Payette and Frederick Bowers both said they were fired without proper cause, that their discipline was too severe, that their alleged actions or failures do not constitute violations of county policy, and that the county failed to complete a fair, objective and comprehensive investigation prior to taking action…
