Motorists traveling through northern Marion County will face detours starting Thursday as state officials close a bridge over Interstate 75 for repairs, a project that will also require overnight shutdowns of the interstate itself next week.
The Florida Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the County Road 320 bridge over I-75 will be continuously closed beginning as early as 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22. The closure is expected to last until repairs are completed during the week of Feb. 8.
In addition to the bridge closure, crews will shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 at the overpass overnight. These closures are scheduled from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, and Tuesday, Jan. 27.
