Gainesville homeowner sentenced to 22 years after self-defense shooting during armed robbery

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Months after testifying in a murder trial, the Gainesville homeowner who shot at robbers in self-defense has been sentenced to decades in prison on federal gun and drug charges.

Dovico Raynard Miles, 47, of Gainesville, was sentenced to 22 years and six months in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges related to drug trafficking, firearm possession, and violating his supervised release.
