High Springs City Manager Has Worthless Check Criminal Case in North Carolina

High Springs City Manger Jeremy Marshall has a criminal case out of North Carolina.

Marshall is alleged to have filed a worthless check with the Food Lion Grocery store in June 2008, court records indicate.

In February 2009, a summons was issued for Marshall to appear in court but it was not served.

Marshall’s official background report contains the same case number as the case represented above, proving the criminal charge is attributable to him and not a situation of someone having the same name.

Ironically, there are two police officers who serve as High Springs commissioners. Commissioner Chad Howell is a sergeant at the Alachua Police Department and Commissioner Tristan Grunder is a sergeant with the Gainesville Police Department.

Marshall was hired by the City of High Springs on April 2, 2024. The background report that contains information on Marshall’s criminal case was processed on April 24, 2024, and completed by Folds Walker LLC, the law firm acting as the High Springs City Attorney’s Office.

Today, well over a decade after the alleged offense, court records still describe the status of the case as “pending.”…
