The woman who law enforcement and prosecutors said fired several shots at a sheriff’s deputy who was transporting her to the Marion County Jail after arresting her from a traffic stop was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Feb. 16.
Rheanna Diane Harden told the court that she was going through hard times, but it didn’t excuse her actions. She said she understood the circumstances surrounding her case and was hoping for a downward departure from sentencing guidelines.
The lengthy prison sentence is for charges of attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false name to a law enforcement official…
