A Florida man told police that he “took it too far” after allegedly tying up his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter so that she wouldn’t take off her diaper before killing the toddler by repeatedly punching her.
Jeroen Jarrell Coombs has been charged with aggravated child abuse in relation to the death of Paisley Brown near Ocala, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office announced in a statement on Friday. Deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive child at a residence in the 16500 block of NE 44th Avenue at around 12pm on Thursday.
First responders rushed Paisley to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries. Deputies on the scene were told that Coombs was “the one who harmed Paisley” and that he was attempting to flee, according to the sheriff’s office. The 32-year-old was detained for questioning as Major Crimes detectives launched a homicide investigation.
