Deputies arrest manslaughter suspect on US Hwy 441

Deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a suspicious person near the 10900 block of US Hwy 441 South late on Sunday, March 1. The caller reported a man standing dangerously close to the roadway, posing a safety risk to drivers.

Deputies Valbuena and Cortes identified the man as Darien Ford, who had been wanted in Maryland for Involuntary Manslaughter and had been on the run for over four years.
